BATTLE FAMILY COMPANION

A daily guide for work, home, and legacy

Today's Word

From one vet to another

Daily Check-In

A quick honest look at where you are today. Only you see this.

Saved.

Today's Prompt

Write as much or as little as you need. Nobody reads this but you.

Today's Entry

Stream of consciousness is fine. Bullet points are fine. Whatever comes out.

Saved.

Family Goals

The war is behind you. What you build now is the mission.

Set it down on paper. Check it off when it's done.

Short-Term — the next 90 days

The close-in objectives. A weekend with no work talk. A budget sit-down with your spouse. One repair around the house. Small, concrete, soon.

Mid-Term — the next 1 to 2 years

The building phase. Pay down a debt. Get the business registered. Finish the certification. The family trip you keep putting off.

Long-Term — the legacy

The reason for all of it. The home owned outright. The kids through school. A business that stands on its own. What your family inherits — in money and in example.

Family Financial Planning

A plan on paper beats worry in your head.

Everything here stays encrypted on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

Monthly Income

Take-home pay, VA disability, a spouse's income, side work — everything that comes in each month, after tax.

Monthly Expenses

Housing, food, vehicles, insurance, debt payments, the kids — all of it. Add one line per expense.

Savings Goal

What you want to set aside every month — an emergency fund, the business, the kids' future.

The Picture

Where the month stands once income, expenses, and savings are all on the table.

Your Family Album

The faces and places this is all for. Your spouse. The kids. The home you're building. The people who pull you forward. Two galleries: Peace for what grounds you, Warrior for what drives you.

When on, your photos rotate behind every tab — Today, Journal, Toolkit, History. When off, your photos stay in the gallery here only. You can toggle this from the header on any tab.
Higher = darker overlay, easier to read text.
Full-screen slideshow with rotating words. Press ESC to exit.

Peace Gallery

Photos that bring you back to ground. Home. People you love. Places that feel safe. The view that quiets your nervous system.

Storage

Your photos live in this browser on this device only. They are never sent anywhere. Auto-resized so each one takes very little space.

Using: 0 KB
If you hit the limit, delete older photos or export your data from the History tab.

Voice

Hear the words, exercises, and steady reminders out loud — in a real human voice. Everything here is recorded and played back entirely on this device. Microphone audio is never uploaded. Nothing leaves your hands.

Which voice plays

Founder's Voice

The voice the app comes with — from one battle buddy to another.

My Voice

Your own recordings, made below. Your voice, guiding you.

No Voice

Text only. No audio anywhere in the app.

Record In Your Own Voice

Read each line and record it once. Do a few at a time — your progress saves as you go, and you can re-record anything that doesn't sound right. To hear your own recordings in the app, set the voice above to My Voice.

When you start recording, your browser asks once to use the microphone — say yes, and you can record every line without being asked again. That permission is local to this device; microphone audio is never sent anywhere.
Saves your recordings to a file you can back up.

Your History

Patterns matter. Looking back is how you see the trend, not just the day.

Export Your Data

Take your entries with you. Useful for sharing with a therapist or just keeping a record.

About This Tool

Battle Family Companion is a self-help and reflection tool built by a veteran, for veterans. It is a daily companion for the life after the war — work and home balance, being present for your family, leaving the war behind, and building a legacy and a future worth showing up for. It is not therapy and it is not a treatment plan. It is a place to do the steady, everyday work of coming all the way home.

Everything you write here is stored only in your own browser, on your own device. It is not sent anywhere. It is not uploaded. Clearing your browser data will erase your entries — use the Export button if you want to keep a copy.

Your data is encrypted. Every check-in, journal entry, and uploaded photo is locked behind your 4-digit code using AES-256 encryption (the same standard used by banks and the U.S. government). Without your code, the stored data is unreadable — even to someone with full access to your computer. The trade-off: if you forget your code, the data cannot be recovered. There is no master key and no backdoor. That is the point.
